===== From sonya_roberts@geocities.com: Very nicely done! ===== From lg@pixar.com: Next time, don't use lens flare. Looks very cheesy in an otherwise very attractive image. ===== From kazemir@pde.com: I like what you have done with the candle, the lens flare, and the "rainbow" effect look great. Improvements, IMHO, The pot looks a little "blocky", the texture on the candlestick needs some work, it doesn't look like brass. ===== From bill.marrs@pureatria.com: Very nice! Great idea - it's interesting to see the similarities in the picture on the wall to the 3d objects (all of which is in a pciture itself!) ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Excess of lens flare, but very nice! ===== From lowellr@globaldialog.com: The len's effect is way overkill for a candle. also for a brick wall try varying the texture/colors Nice try though ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Way too much lens flare. I had to shield my eyes from the glare! Otherwise very well done. The scene is very faithful to the image. ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: The problem with this plugin is that sometimes it can give very unrealistic pictures because of an incredible amount of flare. If this is the kind of picture you get with your camera, well... it's time to get a brand new one! ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: Brilliant idea. Just the lens flares are too exaggerated (and technicalliy incorrect, btw, real lens flares always go through the center of the image; light sources close to the image center produce rings very close to each other.) The gold material for the candle stand has too large and too diffuse highlights. (i. e. it is not shiny enough.) ===== From i_emackay@mountains.net.au: Good idea. Nice picture. Camera angle is not the best. Candle is a bit overdone. Jug needs a thicker lip and base. ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: Great idea. Well made, too. But perhaps you overdid the lensflare a bit. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: A really insteresting appraoch to the theme. :{) The major detractions in your image are the brick wall and the lens flare. It would have been nice to see some texture added to the brick wall. I find the brick pattern works best with large wall sections that are viewed from a great distance, so that the lack of detail does not hinder it. Adding some bump mapping or maybe a crackle pattern might enhance the brickwork. The lens flare is just way too bright to have, in my mind, realistically come from a single candle. If you wanted to keep the lens flare, I would have made it much smaller. Going for a softer, subtler impact. Still, it's a wonderful image. ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: Great idea. I like the composition. I think the lens flare is way to bright, especially for the amount of light coming from its source. This image tied for my highest score for concept. ===== From web_user@128.194.74.70: Of all teh attempts at "still life" I think I like this the best. Notable for originality, composition, modelling, lighting ===== From web_user@eglab11.mines.edu: Great idea Notable for originality ===== From r@dialup83.webbernet.net>: Very clever idea, well done. The back wall may look better with more detailed texture and normal mapping, but as it is it gives the effect of a painted backdrop, merging painting and reality. In my top ten. Notable for originality, composition
