===== From gregj56590@aol.com: There must be a better option for "fractal as space to be flown through." ===== From agage@mines.edu: Nice model (I remember those) and good use of a fractal. The last couple of frames could stand to be replaced by solid black, as it looks like some numeric instability or the location of the camera is causing some flicker. Not a bad first submission. ===== From chrisj@digiquill.com: The fractals detract from the scene. Maybe better is a bozo-colored semitransparent tube. You're right, it is off-topic. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: The fractal was very pretty. I used to love Space 1999 as a kid too. Still, the animation is a bit odd, seems to throw 2 things somewhat unnaturally together. ===== From kentdj@revealed.net: The "warp field" fractal looks a little flat and the color shifting doesn't match the apparent speed of the spacecraft. Just a thought, but if you still plan on improving your anim for your own use, how about intersecting the fractal height field with a cone with it's end cut off so you don't see much of the warp field until you get inside of it? As you pretty much admitted in your text file, this anim is kind of a stretch for the "toys" topic, but I'll give you a little credit for coming up with a way to tie the two together :-). ===== From r@159.134.245.19: Not selected for viewing based on the poster and description. I favoured the other ones I commented on although I realise I might have missed something. ===== From r@dial-up40.webbernet.net: Another space warp of sorts. Theme marginal, but you could assume that the ship is a toy. Needed stars badly. I would like to see a more realistic warp sometime. An attempt to show the counterintuitive effects of relativistic velocity. The space bending of a Thorne-Misner tunnel. The external visual aspect of an Alcubierre drive. Ah, well. Whatever a warp may look like, it ain't a Mandelbrot! This comment by clem@dhol.com.
