TITLE: A Noble Adventure WEBPAGE: http://users4.50megs.com/enphilistor/irtc.htm COUNTRY: US of A RENDERER USED: POV-Ray version 3.5. TOOLS USED: Text editor, CMPEG, pencils, paper. HARDWARE USED: K6-2 @ 300MHz, 96 Megs of RAM CREATION TIME: Pretty much the whole quarter. Final rendering was done on the 15th of January. VIEWING RECOMMENDATION: Full color, 24 frames per second. ANIMATION DESCRIPTION: Rusty looks forward to a brighter future. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED: I typed out a bunch of scene code, rendered the frames, and slapped them together with an MPEG compiler, just like I always do. All of the models used in this entry are my own work. David G. Potter was a fan of the Rusty series who passed on in June of 2001. Under the pen name of Gharlane of Eddore, he was the Internet's leading authority on science fiction. The signs over the bookshelves use image_maps for the lettering. To keep the lettering from being aliased to death I gave the modeling code the ability to anti-alias the texture, based on the distance to the camera. This makes the signs legible under a greater variety of viewing distances.
