ANIMATION DESCRIPTION:I couldn't get permission to use a copyrighted soundtrack, which made it so much more interesting.  Nonetheless, it's a story of a war general's journey through his war, yet the cycle keeps repeating.  Note:  This animation was well under way before the start of any recent well-publicized military action.
DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED:A lot of hand-editing.  I wrote a little ditty to convert a pgn (chess game) file to a collection of splines to control the movement of the pieces.  Other than that, it was just a lot of tweaking by hand to get the camera angles that would show the action the best and fit the [missing] soundtrack.  Oh well...
