I really liked the interpretation of the theme.
It is a real long time since I last dreamt of trees that produced some sort of
sweet or other. Brought me back there ! Maybe 20 odd years ago, maybe even a
bit more.

lollipops.

As per your request for suggestions to help speed up rendering times, you can
make a round-end cylinder which renders quickly by combining the main cylinder
with a torus and then a smaller cylinder to fill out the torus.  For example,
a 10-unit tall rounded-end cylinder with a radius of 1 could be coded like:

    union {
      cylinder { <0,0,0>, <0,9.875,0>, 1 }
      torus { 0.75, 0.125 translate y*9.875 }
      cylinder { <0,9.875,0>, <0,10,0>, 0.75 }
    }

Lighting tip? Well, I think about lighting I found on your scene is that the
light placement is so vertical that they aren't many visible shadows. And the
shadows are the great thing of 3d: they give depth and perspective. Anyhow,
I liked very much the concept and the nice sweet looking of the textures.

Very nice. lighting looks ok.  For writing on chocolate bars try
 difference {
  box { ....}
  text {....}
  texture {...}
 }
Takes longer than union to render but gives good results.

Nice lollypops... mmmmm.... Clever concept and a nice image. Just not sure what
this construction is the middle of the icing plain is meant to be. Not sure if
the ice cream is meant to look real or not - it doesn't, but maybe that's how
it's meant to be. Some much bigger mountains behind those small foothills would
help the composition.
