The shadow plates are a nice detail, a lot of people would have missed that.

Why would the ringworld have an alternating purple and white pattern
on its underside? I guess there is no reason why it wouldn't, either,
but I found myself spending more time wondering about that than anything
else.

The "up" side of the ringworld, facing the sun, would have large expanses
of forest and ocean. A more colorful texture there might work well.

The problem with modelling the Ringworld is that if you get in close enough to
get
a sense of the scale, then most of it's out of visual range -- and if you pull
back far enough to show its structure, it just looks way too tiny...

Very good image artistically. The colours and contrasts balance well, the angle
of the ringworld attracts interest. I'm worried by the discontinuities in the
light reflecting off the near side of the ringworld. The lens flare works very
well - probably needed to avoid rendering the central star as a point of light.
