From chris@bluelectrode.com:
Breath-takingly dramatic. Great modeling on the rose and table. My only
complaint is that the overall image is too loosely connected to the theme.

Good job. One of my top ten.

Splendid rose, but is it enough for a garden ?

=====
From bill@apocalypse.org:
High rose realism! The upper part of the image seems
wasted on blur though.

From YaelParis@operamail.com:

Very good picture even if it's not directly linked to the topic, maybe you
should have add some description of the image. you used too much focal blur to
render there's no more detail in the backgroud

From whhale@nvl.army.mil:
looks just like a photo.

Beautifull, but only just on concept.

BEAUIFUL.
GARDENS?

From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com:
Although it is a nice picture, I think this is gettign away from the topic. Of
course one can argue that the rose comes from some garden, but that would be a
better picture for a topic such as 'romance' (I would not even consider it for
'love').
I guess your mapped textures are taken from photographic samples, although
there
is nothing wrong with it in theory, it alters the value of the technical work
in
a negative fashion.
There is one (apparent) flaw with the puddle nearest the vase's mouth : the
puddle seems to hover over the slit between the boards, it should either fill
it
(if it is sealed) or flow through ...
The rose is very well crafted.

From jaime@ctav.es:
A bit pixelizated on the foreground, but very nicely composed.

=====
From karl@pemail.net:
The background seems to be a bit too blurred. Nice detail
on the rose

From wozzeck@club-internet.fr:
Petales et feuilles sont tres reussis.
Certaines planches et le rideau montrent pas mal d'aliasing.
L'eclairage est un peu curieux: il n'y a aucune ombre en-dehors de la planche du
milieu.

From albiaprime@aol.com:
Technical- full marks for realism.
Artistic - Tres Bien! (very good)
Concept et theme - sorry this is Not a Garden.

=====
From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au:
A nice rose, but I don't see a garden anywhere, unless it's that fuzzy patch
through
the window.

From peter@table76.demon.co.uk:
Interestingly, alphabetical order on my computer puts _ after Z. Was that
what you wanted?

Very good looking rose. But really a garden?
Notable for textures, modelling
