I'm not sure whether it's the concept or the skill applied that makes me love
this image.

Pure genious. Beautiful in every aspect. The lighting is just enough to
highlight the features of the buildings. And with POV...not that I thought
such a beautiful and realistic image couldn't be done. I can only imagine what
it could look like rendered at 3200x2400. I now have a new level of skill and
proficency to shoot for.

Incredible work. One of my top 10 and all 20s in my book. A Definitive
winner.

This image is great! The image size submitted does not do this scene justice. I
would have liked to see an 600*800 rotated on its side.

From trioker@wanadoo.fr:

Very impressive work. You're a professional.

my head hurts when I think about all the time that must
have gone into adding all that detail.

Very nice lightning in this picture... The building walls are a bit to
repetitive but I don't blame you for that, I'm not able to do such a good job
;0)

A truely great image. Its a pity you don't enter into the
IRTC more...

A faultless picture - only a sense of deja vu with the concept prevented a
perfect score.

From ameede@madmac.com:
Wow, some Italian Renaissance, some Escher, excellent work. I want to know how
long it took you to actually create the scene (from conception, through its
final product). I find the work socially significant as well.

Yes ! And again another of these fantastic ones ... why is there so many good
entries in this round ? You're not making the judges' task easy lads ! ;-))
But I'm so happy browsing such fantastic submissions.

Gilles is another well know quality artist in the POV scene, isn't he ?
They should really form a group of professionals these few who spoil the game
away from beginners ... but keep doing it though I'm not telling you off. I
would really miss it if you were not there.

Who am I going to degrade from his/her high rank to put this one instead ? The
choice does not let itself known.
I'll probably go for a share in the first place.

There's life, there's mood, there's ligth, there's skill, craft, gift,
pleasure,
expression, mistery, depth.
There is an idea that motion is not far away but it does not quite show on the
picture, this looks very still. Almost sterile in fact if it were not for the
small greeney patch in the middle with its two disturbing animals however
peaceful they may look like.

As for the IRTC rules the FAQ clearly shows that you can submit a 600x800 if
rotated into a 800x600 and ask the spectator to rotate the image back ... but
of
course that's asking for the spectator to act ... it may be too much for some
and it may be asking for trouble. Yet I think an entry as good as this one
would
have been worth the trouble and the risk - what do you loose anyway ? Your name
is pretty well known within the IRTC arena and broader POV scene.

OK, now I know the end result for the votes (mine of course) : three of you get
an equal total of point well above the others (for me anyway) and you are one
of
them.

WHat I can say? Thanks for entering, Gilles! Altough I've seen parts of this
scene
and you admit it is part of a current topic, it is a superb scene. Very nice
idea
and composition, depth is amazing. Fabulous!

quel niveau d'anti-alias travailles-tu?

Technical - wow! Full Marks!
Artistic - an impressive presentation on a time honoured subject, Full Marks!
Theme - garden, definitely it is (a bit on the gothic side construction wise
but very high marks for original interpetation of theme

From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au:
This is a lovely picture - good composition, moody lighting, intricate
modelling,
and a clever approach to the topic. I really would have liked to see this at
800x600 pixels - you can always submit an image "sideways" and request that
viewers
rotate it (it's within the rules). But going on this, there's not much I can
suggest
to improve this - except maybe zooming in just a little closer to the centre so
we
can see the detail there more easily.
