An original approach, to say the least. I guess a snail's broken shell is 
a ruin. You'll definitely get points for the well-modeled snail and the 
surroundings. The cracks in the shell have some 90 degree corners, 
which is a bit odd, and looks very much computer generated. Your snail is
a cutie, by the way :-)

This is a pretty cool-looking picture... especially the 
"body" of the snail (and its texture) and the 
shaping/texturing on the rocks.  The cracked and 
missing parts of the shell have edges that are too sharp 
and regular, and I'm not sure how well this picture fits in 
with the topic of ruins.

Clever idea.  Very good modelling and textures on the 
snail.  What happened to the poor thing?  The rough 
textures on the side of the rocks is good, but the flat 
surface needs a bit more detail.

Very interesting idea, and executed fairly well. I would have liked to see
the shell broken more randomly, instead of along straight stepped lines.
The snail's body looks like snakeskin... do snails really look like that
close up? This could be improved by adding some plants or something in
the background, and making it so the rock surface isn't sheared off flat
like that for the snail to sit on.
