From rjhansen@hotbot.com:
Very nice image! I particularly like the texturing and finish on the
stalagtites. It's very realistic. The only "flaw" I see in the picture is the
graininess or noisiness of the water.

=====
From tony@j4tb.com:
Cool! You might want to tone down the stalagmites and stalagtites a little bit
there seems to be too many. The water is a nice touch.

=====
From jd@surveyor.in-berlin.de:
Funny, first I had the same idea, too, but as the image shows, its difficult
to make an interesting picture with it. A bit fantasy animals, some more
stone textures, maybe a waterfall instead of only drops, and the image would
had been more appealing.

From christophe.bouffartigue@libertysurf.fr:
The upper part of the picture is amazing. Lighting and texturing are superb,
as always.
But, there is something wrong with the water surface, just a little something
(maybe the high frequency for the waves ?)...
Anyway, a good picture.

From whhale@nvl.army.mil:
I almost missed the water. Good thing you included a description (hint for
others). Having been in many caverns I can attest to the detail level of this
picture.  Good job!

=====
From javaearl@hotmail.com:
Great cavernous aura, but the fact that the lighting seems unrealistic for a
cave suggests man-made light, which takes away from the "wild" aspect. Dripping
water a definite plus.

=====
From douge@nls.net:
Very realistic modelling. The texture doesn't look quite right...

=====
From warp@iki.fi:
I think that stalactites and stalagmites go mostly in pairs (ie. the water
dropping from one carries minerals that form the other).
The image looks good, but it's a bit poor in details. There could have been
more things there than only rocks.
The rocks look like they are covered with a thin layer of plastic instead of
looking wet.
The graininess in the image reflected on the water is a bit distracting.
But not a bad image.

=====
From whitey@telefragged.com:
The textures on the right are a little screwy, but overall, it looks good.

=====
From luisvaloyes@malditasea.zzn.com:
I really like this one, really nice modelling, cool textures and light, it looks
almost real, a very nice job.

=====
From dmacisaacj@hotmail.com:
Liked this one, been to caves / caverns in Italy, very realistic, I'm looking
for bats

=====
From dearmad@sapere.com:

not bad texturing, but a little too "one coat does it all" for me. lighting is
well done.
=====
From mark.wagner17@gte.net:
Try adding some bats. You might want to try adding
some other cave formations such as flowstone, pillars, or
crystal formations.

=====
From chris_hormann@gmx.de:
Really impressive stone work, maybe the pigments could be slightly more natural
thanks for sharing the code with us

=====
From jouni@mikrobitti.fi:
Damn Jaime, you've done some really nice work with those stalagmites and
-ctites
there! The texturing looks nice, the modelling is well executed and the blobs
join smoothly enough. I was left missing just some minor foreground details
(anything from red stones to a big snail) and a slightly more ambient lighting.

=====
From StephenF@whoever.com:
I like the shaping and the shine on the rocks in this
scene, but I think the colors on the rocks could blend
into each other a little more to give it a better look. A
very effective use of lighting as well.

=====
From gmccarter@hotmail.com:
Certainly looks like a cavern.
Nice textures and water, especially the fine ripples.
Too many water drips -- it's almost raining in here!

=====
From albiaprime@aol.com:
Artistic - You have done an excellent job here.
Technical - Very nice the way you have been able to accurately capture the way
           in which light shines on wet stalagtites.
Concept - Hard to picture this as a wilderness.

From file:
If it weren't for all that dripping water this would be among the most
photo-realistic ray-traces that I've ever seen. Well done.

Nice interpretation of theme, and very realistic.
