From exether@demo.xandmail.com:
The violence of the event is well rendered.
It is strange and a bit unrealistic though that the big lower left part of the moon still remains in place.

That is really good ! A great image !

From god@rajram.com:

The camera marks take away from the image.

From rgow@lanset.com:
Great image! The dynamic sense of violent motion comes through well. Scale is hard to determine, maybe a galaxy or something in the background for reference.

From hildurka@simnet.is:
This is a great image. It completely speaks for itself, no
text needed to clarify anything. One of my favorites this
round.

I like the feel to this one. Cool render.

From Knight-Graphics@earthlink.net:
Wow, this is amazing… although I don’t care for the green lines in the corners. They seem to distract the viewer from all the great detail. Continue to push the limits of your imagination (and your computer).

From p_chan@shaw.ca:
Excellent work on the debris, etc. The effect looks
great. I find some of the bigger and brighter stars a bit
distracting in the image.

From slone@hiwaay.net:
Great look, very scary. Not decay so much as destruction
(speed-streaked stars) but still a great concept.
Debris looks realistic and well-placed.

Cool explosion, one problem though, the biggest piece in left/down part of moon still remains in place in a sphere shape with the rest.

Great entry. But I don't like those green triangles at all.

I really like this. In my humble opinion I don't want it to win because it's not what I consider to be idea of raytracing. But having said that, it's one of the most emotive images this time round. It's emotive in the way that a submarine 'pip... pip... pip' is emotive. I like it -RICH

Wow. You are the man. I love the picture. I just started with 3D myself and looking at pictures like yours keeps me going on the learning curve and not giving up. -- Andre
