nice modelling & textures, though the materials are all too shiny and clean to
look real.

Excellent work on the texturing and modelling. Some of the other textures seem
off (brick has a wave in it, repeated textures easy spotted, pavement is
somewhat an odd texture.)

perhaps it is too clean to be abandoned

This is SO close to being a great image. It misses the mark in just a =
few minor ways. Particularly in lighting and textures. My main =
complaints are the severely harsh shadows from the two light sources, =
leading to strange crescent shapes on the pavement, and the =
much-too-white chrome textures that turn this realistic engine into =
something cartoonish. The modeling is outstanding. I particularly like =
the wheel construction, and the details throughout the engine area.
Scene arrangement is fine, artistically using lighting to highlight =
certain things. But just because street lights might be the only =
natural lights in this alley, there is nothing wrong with using =
strategically-placed key and fill lights to add more drama. Imagine =
some red/blue lights near the horizon off the right side of the scene, =
adding colorful highllights on the wheels and body -- are the cops =
coming? Are we near a bar with neon signs?
Excessive use of pallets as cheap scene filler. If you are going to do =
this, make sure some of them can be distinguished -- add some knotholes =
and dirt on a few. Cobwebs and mouse nests. Splinters and damage. =
Make some darker, some grayer.
How about adding something to the brick wall besides the door? The wall =
is a background element, but it takes up a lot of valuable screen space, =
and needs more things to keep the eye interested. Gutters. Windows. =
Electrical conduits. Drain pipes. Air vents. Panels. Boxes. =
Posters. Dirt and streaks! Compare your background to this one: =
http://www.ignorancia.org/images/irtc/urbatree.jpg
I have to mark you down for using so many canned textures. I'm certain =
you can do better than that.
Finally, the scene is just a bit too static. Nothing moving here at =
all. Not good for "speed"!
Too much criticism perhaps, this is really one of my favorite scenes =
here. Keep up the good work (and I hope you can get yourself a faster =
PC -- you deserve it).

I feel a better chrome texture was needed for this
image. Nice modeling though.
